Turn podcasts into songs

Hi everybody. I'm back with a wonderful way to change podcasts into audio formats. It's really simple. (This is great for podcasts like the KEXP Song of the Day, where it gives you the music in podcast form but then doesn't show in your music section or count towards play counts). Basically, you enable you computer to view hidden files (easy on a PC, harder on a Mac), and then you go through all the folders that hold your music on your iPod until you find the podcast you are looking for. You then download a program called Audacity (if you haven't already), and promptly open your podcast into audacity. You then change any tags that you want and "export as mp3." After it has finished moving the song to whatever folder you choose, you just add the file to iTunes and proceed to add it to your iPod. Done! Any questions?

Robota Update!

Hello.  I recently emailed Doug Chiang about the Robota Game/Movie that was supposed to come out but hasn't yet.  This is what he said:

Thanks for your email and I'm pleased that you liked Robota.  This project is still in progress.  And as with most development, taking a bit longer that I had hoped to get it realized as a game and film.  Rest assure it's moving forward.  It's been almost three years since I've updated my web site but hopefully I'll be able to post some news soon.  Until then, thanks for your interest.

Robota?

So today I just finished reading Robota by Doug Chiang and Orson Scott Card (Awesome!!!). I go onto Mr. Chiang's website, and see that they are making a game/movie about the book. I think, "This will be so cool! When is it coming out? What about the game? When will it come out?" All I can find is one of his updates (from 2005) that said the game would be released in 2007. It's 2008, and I have not seen anything. The last teaser was from 2005, and the only other place I can find it is on Apple's website. WTF? I want some news! What's happening? This seems like an awesome idea, but apparently it is not happening. IMdb has nothing, no one has anything! Ahhhh! Can anybody tell me why nothing is posted anywhere in the past 3 years?

Recipies

Hi! I have some cool new smoothie recipes that I just created. They taste... different. But they are good! Try them!


Summer Sunshine:

1 1/2 cups Welch's Grape-Apple Juice
1/2 can orange soda (I used Fanta)
1 tbsp. lime juice
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 bag (8 oz) frozen strawberries (You can substitute with raspberries)
1 apple

Cut apple in half. Peel one half, and slice, removing core. do not peel other half, but remove core and slice. Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend! Serve right away, because the fizz from the soda will eventually go away and make it taste not as good.


Peach Delight:

1 cup frozen peaches
2 oranges
1 grapefruit
1 Edy's Lime Bar
Orange zest

Juice the grapefruit and one of the oranges. Peel the other orange and dice it. Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend, and add water or orange juice until the mixture moves freely in the blender. Serve cool.


Mixed Fruit Smoothie:
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup orange juice
1 banana
12 oz mixed frozen fruit (blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries)

Put all ingredients in a blender, and blend! Add more juice if it is too thick.
